BIG SUR, CALIFORNIA

When my sisters and I decided to spend three days in San Francisco celebrating a 34th birthday, I knew this was my chance to finally see Big Sur. It was a quick trip, but in our typical long weekend fashion, jam packed with explorations, food and drink.

After a brief stop in San Jose to visit friends, drink Ridge wine at its source, and devour some local tacos, we headed south along Highway 1. I was not prepared for the beauty of the mountains, oceans and looming redwood trees, and the stunning views along the whole drive. We saw purple sand at the andrew molera beach, and the waterfall at mcway, before ending the day at an adorable cabin nestled in the redwood forest. The following day we headed north, stopping in Capitola to see the candy coloured houses and ano nuevo national park to see the sea lions, before settling into our hotel (and oceanside fire bit) in Half Moon Bay.
